Emerson Process Management Power & Water Solutions, Inc. has purchased a 40,000-square-foot building at the
RIDC Industrial park, O'Hara Township.
This building at 160 Beta Dr. is Emerson's second property in the park. Its initial 242,423-square-foot 200 Beta Dr. building was built and purchased in 1966, and expansions were completed in 1972. Emerson began leasing the 160 Beta Dr. building in 1982, and with the lease up for renewal, decided to purchase the building as a "sound economic investment" that "cements Emerson's continuing commitment to this region," says Bob Yeager with Emerson.
Emerson Process Management, a business of Emerson, is a leader in helping automate production and processing operations in the oil and gas, pulp and paper, power and water, mining and metals, food and beverage, life sciences, and other industries. The Power & Water Solutions division supplies automation, control and optimization technologies for the power generation and water/wastewater treatment industries.
This division currently supports more than 40 percent of electrical generating capacity in North America.
Work done at Emerson's recently purchased RIDC building includes light assembly, production development and engineering, customer service and field engineering, training, and administrative work including purchasing, sales, marketing, finance and human resources.
Patrick Gruden of CB Richard Ellis Pittsburgh represented Emerson in the sale of the new facility.
RIDC's O'Hara park currently houses about 95 companies, including Mine Safety Appliances and Giant Eagle, says Brooks Robinson with RIDC.
