Canadian singer-songwriting sister act
Tegan and Sara (née Tegan Rain Quin and Sara Kiersten Quin) bring their slick indie sound to Greensburg's historic
Palace Theatre.
Tirelessly touring the U.S. behind
their latest release,
The Con, the identical twin indie sibs made their breakthrough in 1998 after winning the Garage Warz Battle of the Bands in Calgary. Nominated for a Juno Award (read: a Canadian Grammy), the sister-popsters have toured with such luminaries as Neil Young, Ryan Adams, Rufus Wainwright, The Pretenders, Ben Folds, The Killers, and Weezer.
Among Tegan and Sara's bragging rights? The White Stripes covered one of their songs and they've appeared on the hit TV show,
The L Word.
Signed to Neil Young's
Vapor Records in Canada and to
Sire in the States, Tegan and Sara have performed at Sarah McLachlan's Lilith Fair and on the Late Show with David Letterman, have recorded with John Collins of the New Pornographers and have produced
several DVDs.
Released in 2007, the duo’s fifth and much-lauded album,
The Con, was co-produced by Death Cab for Cutie’s Chris Walla.
