Like, yeah: Totally Awesome '80s Bash at the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh

Fri, May 9, 7 - 11 p.m.
Children's Museum of Pittsburgh
10 Childrens Way, Northside

For tickets, 412-322-5058 ext. 241

Gag me with a spoon: the year is 1983, the soundtrack Bananarama, Billy Idol and Boy George.

Don your finest day-glo threads and time travel to when grafitti and break dancing ruled the streets, Duran Duran rocked the airwaves and the Children's Museum was born on Pittsburgh's North Side.

Dig out those jelly shoes, rubber bracelets and acid-washed demin vests and channel your inner Madonna as you relive those awesome '80s memories (more like faux pas) and celebrate 25 years of art and fun at the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh.

The Totally Awesome 80s Bash will, like, feature a massive Rubik’s cube (assembled by Taylor Alderdicers), retro video games Pac-Man and Asteroids, rad tunes by the likes of Tears for Fears, Men at Work and Cyndi Lauper, and grafitti art by Jamie Matthews.

Don’t miss dinner and cocktails against the backdrop of one of Pittsburgh’s finest cultural destinations. The (moon) walk down memory lane starts at 7 p.m. on Friday. So get set to rock down to electric avenue, cut footloose and feel the rhythm of the night!

To purchase tickets, go here or call (412) 322-5058, x241.

Totally.
