Another "Tale of Two Cities": Ontario city finds parallels in Pittsburgh revitalization

"Pittsburgh two decades ago was where Windsor finds itself now, reeling from the collapse of its economic mainstay--there and then, it was Big Steel; here and now, it's Big Three Auto," states an article in Ontario, Canada's Windsor Star.

The piece draws parallels between Windor's hurdles to revitalization and what Pittsburgh has already achieved. These ruminations arise around the screening of film My Tale of Two Cities by Pittsburgher Carl Kurlander, who made it big in Hollywood with St. Elmo's Fire and Saved by the Bell. Kurlander's 85-minute film--all about Pittsburgh's rebirth--was screened in Windsor a couple weeks ago, and will screen in Pittsburgh at the SouthSide Works from March 19 to 25. The movie is also being screened on Capitol Hill in March for a presentation before a U.S. Congress audience.
