Money Magazine announced its top 25 most affordable U.S. towns on July 16th, after dividing a host of median family incomes by median home prices.

The cost of living in the resulting towns -- many of which surround former industrial giants such as Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Buffalo -- was less than half that in Seattle or San Francisco.
