A 21,000 square foot store that caters to the gas drilling industry is moving into Bridgeville.

TSI Flow Products, a Texas-based distributor of parts and supplies--everything the drilling industry might need on the job from flow lines to fittings and plug valves--plans to open by mid-July. TSI is also opening a smaller store in Towanda, Pa. in September. The Bridgeville store will be hiring five to 10 people to start.

"There's definitely a serious need to supply these parts to the region and we're hoping to fill that need," says Ray Churilla, general manager, a Pittsburgh resident who was hired to run the operation. The company has a five year lease on the building. Churilla is looking for "basic laborers," sales, management and inventory people. "No engineering experience is necessary," he says.

Founded in 1989, TSI considers itself a leader in flow control technology, the go-to place for both custom designed and certified off-the-shelf plug valves, chokes, gate valves, all kinds of hardware that was fairly impossible to find in the region prior to the industry's growth. The store is on Mayer Street, a central location based on where customers are drilling, Churilla says.

Two more Marcellus Shale equipment suppliers are also planning to move in on the street as well.
