Two Free Events: Innovative City Leader Summit; GIS Tech Day at Chatham

Two free events are on tap for this week.

On Friday, Nov. 16th, the 4th Annual Regional Equitable Development Summit: “Most Livable Region by Growing Opportunity for All”  will feature keynote speaker David Rusk and moderator Sala Udin.

Rusk is the author of  “Cities without Suburbs,” “Baltimore Unbound,” and “Inside Game/Outside Game.” Leaders from around the region will join the discussion, including Caren Glotfelty of The Heinz Endowments, Tim Stevens of the Black Political Empowerment Project and Jane Downing of The Pittsburgh Foundation. Listen to how some of the region’s leading champions of equitable development are working to close the disparity gap.

The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Twentieth Century Club, 1401 Bigelow Blvd. in Oakland. It’s free and open to the public. For more information or to register, click here.

Pittsburgh institutions will participate in GIS Day at Chatham University, an international event where users of geographic information systems (GIS) technology demonstrate and exhibit real-world applications. The event is going on today, Nov. 14th from 12:00-8:00 p.m. in Chatham's Art and Design Center. It's free and open to the public.
