In a tough hiring economy, a tool that helps to manage the prolific shower of digital resumes comes in handy.
Enter The Resumator
and the end of manually fielding and processing the paperwork. An Alpha Lab
graduate, The Resumator automates, eliminates and simplifies the busywork, making the entire process painless and paperless, says Don Charlton, founder and CEO of the Pittsburgh startup.
“By definition, hiring is an extremely inefficient task,” says Charlton, a native of Fayette County and a former web and graphic designer. “Looking for a good candidate is like trying to find a needle in the haystack. These tools take the inefficiency out of the process instead of picking up every single piece hay.”
The online system also saves time and money by helping to post jobs on external job boards with a single click. “Historically the industry goes after the Fortune 10,000,” Charlton laughs. “Their entire business model is geared toward huge money contracts. There’s a huge opportunity to create a ubiquitous brand for small- to medium-sized businesses.”
Charlton hopes to form a partnership with key companies that will help increase brand awareness. He also credits Alpha Lab with helping the startup get up and running quickly.
“That’s the cool thing about Alpha Lab. It’s a program that allows startups to quickly create products that are extremely capital efficient,” Charlton says.
