Resolute Communications of London is opening a Pittsburgh office and hiring.
With a focus on healthcare marketing and communications, especially working with new technologies and emerging healthcare products, Resolute saw the value of getting into Pittsburgh before the post G-20 rush. This will be the company's second location in the U.S. in addition to its office in New York City. Founded in 2002, Resolute considers itself the largest independent healthcare consultancy in Europe.
Resolute is considering several office locations, including downtown, Lawrenceville, Bloomfield and near the airport, says Beatrice Evangelista, vice president.
"We see a lot of business opportunities here that we think, quite frankly, are untapped by the rest of the country," says Evangelista. "We'd like to be among the first to sneak in while the rest of the country is still marveling at how far Pittsburgh has come over the years."
Resolute plans to hire in the future, but specifics are not yet in place. The top priority is securing office space, she says. "I'm not certain what's going to make the most economic sense at this point, but I'm hoping to find something inside the city."
The company employs 15 people in its New York office and has affiliated offices around the world.
Pennsylvania on the whole is recognized as a rapidly emerging and globally important center of academic research with a "forward-thinking and innovative scientific community," Evangelista adds. The region ranks 4th in the U.S. in bioscience and academic R&D expenditures. Pittsburgh is an important medical and academic center with biotech and pharma companies, device, diagnostic and health technologies, which is where we want to be.
