Gotta love the Crazy Mocha viral videos, the transcendental coffee cup that pours itself steamed milk and floats across the screen. Or the mumbling Mochabot that ruminates about recharge.

Pittsburgh high-def production company Legion Media is celebrating its two-year anniversary with the completion of its 1,700 square-foot sound stage and a successful number of projects that have helped the firm grow from a small production rental house to a complete boutique advertising and media company.

“Our strongest suit is high concept, clever commercial productions,” explains Brian Cohen, who founded the company with fellow industry veteran James Stranahan. “Pittsburgh is a great hub for a growing and thriving production company like ours. Having the urban and the rural environment provides a lot of perks for location filming.”

Legion Media specializes in commercial, industrial and promotional videos and a unique cinematic finesse that embraces all styles of production, from documentary to animation, prop design to pyrotechnics. The company employs 3 full-time, which includes a recently hired media coordinator, and a team of about 20 freelancers.

Clients represent a diverse range from Crazy Mocha, Blush, Craftsmen’s Guild of Pittsburgh to Zambelli Fireworks Internationale, The Oil Regional Alliance and Three Rivers Scrap Metal Inc.

“We enjoy combining unusual prosthetics and makeup not usually seen here,” Cohen adds. “Our company growth has been steady since we started.”

Legion's footage has appeared on numerous national networks such as the Discovery Channel, the Food Network, and the National Geographic Channel.
