TEDx Leadership Pittsburgh: The Power of Ideas
Wednesday, February 03, 2010
TED started in 1984 as a conference to bring together the best thinkers from the technology, entertainment and design worlds. It has since expanded and now the annual conference hosts a wildly popular website with all the TED presentations ever made on video for all to experience.
TEDx conferences are independently organized TED conferences and this one, sponsored by Leadership Pittsburgh and funded in large part by the Grable Foundation, was the first ever in Pittsburgh. The TEDx Pittsburgh conference was also the first to be multi-day and the first to deal with the future of children. Those who went, raved. Due to the phenomenal success, the LP folks are already planning another TEDx event in 2011.
In the next few months Pop City will feature some of the TEDx Leadership Pittsburgh presenters, such as Christine Astorino this week, with links to their videos. No need to wait. To see more about TEDx Leadership Pittsburgh and to view more videos, click
