A retrospective of the best of Pop City
With mixed emotions, Pop City presents its final best-of issue, reflecting on nine years of publishing in Pittsburgh. While on hiatus, we'll be working on a strategy to share stories of innovation in Pittsburgh to a national audience of urban innovators and change-makers. We're planning to launch this new project in Pittsburgh in the coming months.
Pittsburgh has changed tremendously since 2006, when the first issue of Pop City hit inboxes. We're proud of the role we've played in changing the conversation about Pittsburgh, and we're deeply grateful to all of the partners that made this work possible. We're grateful for the dedication, the hard work, and the amazing talent everyone on our local team brought to Pop City over the years. Above all, we're grateful to the Pop City community and we thank you for reading, engaging, sharing and for making Pop City what it is.
Pittsburgh's long and storied past goes much deeper than the near-decade that Pop City covered it. But the writers, editors and photographers of Pop City found honor and joy in chronicling one of the city's most optimistic eras in modern memory.
Putting Pop City on hiatus while building a national network of urban innovators allows us to focus our resources where we are confident in our ability to grow and make a difference. Pittsburgh is a key part of this national network, and our relationships in this community over the past nine years will be the foundation of building our national strategy.
Issue Media Group is a national media company with publications in 20 other markets. We are operating in a rapidly evolving digital media industry and constantly evaluating what's working and where we need to invest our resources to the greatest benefit of our readers, our communities, and our business.
Thank you for your loyal following and support through the years. May we meet again in the Pittsburgh of tomorrow.
