In May, the Voice of the Region Pop Survey asked “How Green Are You”? Readers were asked to answer eight questions that help to indicate how green they are in their daily life. The data reveal that while readers have incorporated some green practices, such as recycling, the majority are not doing so on a regular basis.

More than one-half reported recycling (88.6%), limiting their air conditioner usage (63.9%) and/or walking short distances instead of driving (55.7%) often or always.

Fewer reported using reusable shopping bags (42.6%), using fluorescent light bulbs in their homes (40.5%), purchasing organic foods (28.3%) and/or composting (21.7%) often or always.
