Some
southern Pittsburgh neighborhoods like to say they offer “the suburbs
in the city.” Soon, the southern suburb of Mount Lebanon will be able
to pitch “the city in the suburbs.”
Zamagias Properties –
based Downtown and probably best known as the developer of the Robinson
Town Centre shopping mega-plex – is planning a $28.8 million, 1.56-acre
development called Washington Park at Washington and Bower Hill roads
on Mount Lebanon’s northern edge.
The 60 condos – priced, on
average, at about $450,000 – will have 1-3 bedrooms, high ceilings and
balconies. They’ll be in two buildings, one Tudor-style the other
“collegiate gothic,” says Zamagias spokesperson Marybeth Jeffries.
Residents will also have access to an exercise room, community room,
guest suites and storage lockers. On the first floor, about 9,000
square feet of retail space will be for rent.
