From hot yoga to eco-yarn, Commercial space at the Village of Eastside, located at 6401 Penn Ave. in
East Liberty, is filling up.
Owned by East Liberty Station Associates, the 130,000 square-foot complex recently welcomed a host of new tenants representing a range of services and industries. Lori Moran with Ballymoney Real Estate, who manages and leases the Village, says that additional
national tenants are in the works.
La Palma, CA-based
Relax the Back, the country's leading back care retailer, will open its first Pittsburgh location in a 3,000 square-foot space adjacent to
Trader Joe’s. Above the
market is
Children’s Community Pediatrics, who opened a 6,000 center in November. California-based Bikram Yoga, specializing in hot yoga, has signed a lease for a 3,000 space. East Side Gallery, a mixed-media artist co-op run by Carolyn Wenning, opened Nov. 23 in a 1,200 square-foot space.
Two doors down form the gallery is
Natural Stitches, a new 2,000 square-foot full service yarn shop. “I wanted to be in Pittsburgh near the East End, with good parking and visibility. A lot of people interested in Trader Joe's are likely to find our products right up their alley. I’d like to think I’m filling a void,” says owner Martha Underwood. “I moved to Pittsburgh in 1989 and fell in love with the city really hard and heavy. Pittsburgh is just going up, up, up. The response has been incredible. We’ve had people from
Fox Chapel and
Cranberry—places I wasn’t expecting an immediate draw from.”
Natural Stitches offers classes for novices and masters alike, even a “Men’s Knitting Night,” and carries luxury and eco-fibers, pattern books and notions.
