Verve, Downtown's first wellness studio, is opening on Dec. 7. at 142 6th St. above popular martini bar
Olive or Twist. Verve brings a much-needed amenity to Downtown’s residents, employees
and hotel guests, with Pilates classes, personal training, massage
therapy and esthetician and naturopathic services.
The 4,000 square-foot center features a 2,000 square-foot studio and three treatment rooms. Owners Micah Grubbs and Aubre Stacknick are thrilled to play a role in Downtown’s redevelopment. “We offer an all-in-one wellness experience in a one-of-a-kind
environment that is a five-to-ten minute walk from any Downtown
location," says Grubbs. “We offer pilates and yoga on a large and inexpensive scale to the entire Downtown community, which is unheard of across the region.”
The 100-year-old space underwent a complete renovation, and features original hardwood, iron I-beams, brickwork and massive windows. Jim Smith of Design 4 Associates oversaw the renovation.
Verve boasts Downtown’s first naturopathic practitioner and provides "take out" programs to Olive or Twist’s clientele. "This is a great match for us because the hours are opposite of the bar's," says Jeff Prunzik, who co-owns the three-floor Olive or Twist building. Verve’s opening bash is Dec. 14 from noon until 9 p.m.
