A $3 million capital improvement project will begin at Gateway Towers downtown in early 2007.
The property upgrade will include interior and exterior structural improvements, such as updating the lobby and hallways, installing new lighting and improving landscaping. A contractor has not yet been selected.
“This property is special because for downtown, it has the most green space around it,” says Chrissy McGraw, director of marketing for
Burns and Scalo, newly named property manager for Gateway Towers.
“It’s a turning point for us because this is our first downtown building and the largest residential property we manage,” says McGraw.
Located near
Point State Park at 320 Fort Duquesne Boulevard, the twenty-seven story, 557,000 square-foot building contains 308 resident-owned condos and 80,000 square feet of commercial office space.
“Though it’s an older building, it has really unique characteristics,” says McGraw. “And it’s very affordable compared to other new places to live downtown.”
Two of the property’s condos are currently for sale and 8,000 square-feet of office space is available.
