Construction on
Mt. Washington’s first new residential high-rise in 20 years started on July 15. Located at 501 Grandview Ave., the $6 million Vista Grande will feature 11 for-sale condominiums ranging in size from 2,053 to 2,567 square feet.
Pittsburgh’s newest luxury condominium building will also house an exercise facility, private storage and indoor parking. Unit balconies overlook the rivers while front patios face the Downtown skyline. Designed by Crafton-based Atelier Deming, the 36,025-square-foot building will also feature a top floor observation deck with a prep kitchen, grills and restrooms, as well as a 3,000-square-foot penthouse.
Condos are priced from the mid-500's, and three units have already sold. “This is high-end real estate,” adds Bill Dietrich, with
Coldwell Banker Real Estate Services, who is marketing the project. The Vista Grande is expected to be completed in approximately 14 months. Contractor is Yarborough Construction of McKeesport.
“This project has been going on since 2001. We were only going to put in eight units. When we priced out the construction costs and sale prices, we changed the concept,” says project developer Dan DiPardo with 501 Grandview Associates. "We added another floor and made the units bigger.”
He's looking for additional property to add more parking.
