Business at Vivisimo
has been unabatedly brisk for about nine years now.
As one of the region
's fastest growing companies, the Squirrel Hill enterprise search engine pioneer has enjoyed nine consecutive years of growth and a loyal customer base that spans markets and continents.
Last June Vivisimo shifted into high gear, bringing two powerhouse executives to its growing team that now stands at 100, John Kealey and Kevin Calderwood, who serve as CEO and president respectively. As founder and former CEO Raul Valdes-Perez put it, "the rocket is ready to accelerate and we're looking for the best people to move forward."
Vivisimo was the first company in the world to offer a complete enterprise search engine platform. Today Velocity's single-search-box helps organizations and institutions, both large and small, by providing access to a wide selection of internal information. Customers include Proctor and Gamble, Airbus, HCPro, Lilly, Cisco and the U.S. Air Force.
More recently, Vivisimo jumped on the social search bandwagon with an added feature, an enterprise social search platform that gives companies a powerful tool to tap their own collective ingenuity. Unlike blogs or wikis, the platform gives employees the ability to search and tag social content based on pre-existing groups. An attorney, for example, for wants to better understand a client can check with colleagues in offices across the country and learn key information that may assist in a case.
Vivisimo technology is the centerpiece of government, corporate and health organization capabilities both here and in Europe and Latin America. The firm was recently named to Econtent 100 magazine's eighth annual of "companies that matter most in the digital industry" and is a finalists of Pittsburgh Technology Council's annual Tech 50 Awards this year.
And the accolades keep coming. Vivisimo' Velocity Enterprise Search Platform was named "Trend-Setting Product of 2009? by KMWorld Magazine this month, the fifth consecutive year that Velocity has received this award. The company has also been named "Best Search Enterprise" by Info World in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Always on the cutting edge, check out the company's new blog
