Downtown & The Cultural District

We're not the only ones who think Pittsburgh rocks. The New York Times called it "a cool--dare we say hip-- city," noting the unique topography and natural beauty of the three rivers and rolling green hills. At the intersection of those rivers is where you'll find Downtown and the Cultural District which is booming with new residential buildings and was named tops for a city our size in arts and culture. Each year, more than 1.5 million people drop in Downtown to take in more than 2,000 events. With the newly renovated fountain at Point State Park and the lively renewed Market Square, it's never looked better. From Downtown, you can catch a bus or take the T to virtually anywhere in Allegheny County – the vast majority of Port Authority's 99 routes travel to or through the Golden Triangle. (For a list of routes, visit the Schedules section of the Port Authority Web site.)
