Mt. Washington

There's no other neighborhood like it in Pittsburgh or just about anywhere else. Perched atop a bluff overlooking the city and the three rivers, Mt. Washington is famous for overlooking the spectacular skyline views from Grandview Avneue but there's so much more. This diverse and eclectic neighborhood features a quaint shopping district centered around Shiloh St, with everything from restaurants to ice cream stores to coffee shops. Living options abound, from sleek modern condos (those views!) to single family dwellings and apartments. Work is underway on an urban park of a grand scale that will connect green spaces on the mount to city trails.

Mt. Washington enjoys one of the city's most unique forms of transportation -- the incline -- with the Duquesne Heights Incline and Monongahela Incline just a short walk away for many residents. The Mon Incline's lower station is located at Station Square, which offers connections to the T and numerous bus routes to Downtown, the South Side and the South Hills. Additionally, much of the neighborhood is served by the 40 Mt. Washington bus route, and residents living in the southeastern part of the neighborhood can catch 43 Bailey route along Boggs or walk to South Hills Junction to catch numerous bus and T routes.
